About Howard

A Message from the Artist:

I discovered the joy of painting late in life and structured the rest of my life to allow me to perfect my skill. So far, it’s like being on a permanent vacation. Painting for me is a highly beneficial therapy. Every day I look forward to my “work.” I most enjoy the challenge of drawing and painting people (and pets) in a way that conveys their personality. I get great satisfaction when clients agree it does. While I work from photographs, I generally prefer to meet with the subjects of my watercolor portraiture to make notes about color, personal characteristics, their preferences as to how they wish to be represented, and to view where the portrait will hang. I feel that good portraits get handed down through generations. In the process of painting, I “live” with my subject. I work very hard to achieve both what my portraiture client wants and how I see them. Perhaps you will offer me an opportunity to “live” with you or someone you love. I’ve not disappointed anyone yet.

I hope you’ve enjoy reviewing my artwork on this website and hope you will continue to have a delightful day.
